For naturally dyed garments, the first 2-3 washings are very important and should be done with as much care as possible. While we pre-process and finish our fabrics as much as possible before final production, some of the natural dye materials may still wash off during the first 1-2 washings. While it is highly unlikely that any dye material will stain another garment, it is highly advisable that you wash your garment by itself during the first washings, and before wearing.
Turn garment inside out.
Cold wash
on a delicate cycle with a mild detergent.

Truly Organic can be washed with most mild detergents, but we recommend you use Soap Nuts to wash all your clothes. Why Soap Nuts? Simple, Soap Nuts are Earth's Natural Laundry Soap. You can use them instead of detergent and you can even use them in HE (High Efficiency) machines!
Soap Nuts are berries that grow on trees that contain Saponin, a natural surfactant that cleans your clothes. Most consumers don't realize that more than 30% of the impact a garment has on the environment happens after it is purchased: from the care of the garment during its useful life. So, use Soap Nuts, hang to dry and maybe, just maybe, our grandchildren will have a beatiful planet to play on.
